Tell us about your passion for tattoos and how you first got into the trade?
I had a tough childhood and got mixed up with the wrong people very early which led to graffiti and ultimately led to me teaching myself the tricks of the trade.

What does the world of tattooing mean to you?
Tattooing saved me in so many ways. Honestly if I never took up tattooing I’d Probably be dead. Tattooing is my life.

Give us some insight into your shop, Team Black Sheep?
Team Black Sheep originally started out as a graffiti crew in 2006 by the infamous Sace Gold who has worked with some of the greatest crews in the world and locally. I always looked up to these artists and promised myself that I would rise to their level and become part of the team.

What can visitors expect from the shop and its artists?
You know that feeling you get when everything is just how it’s supposed to be? That’s Team Black Sheep. Welcoming and calm, well-lit, well ventilated with seating options both inside and outside the studio – all privately tucked upstairs in Broadacres Shopping Centre.
Then there are the artists. While they might be loud and full of jokes they are passionate and driven by what they do.

What style of tattoo do you enjoy creating the most, and why?
That’s the hardest question. I guess illustrative designs meaning anything that I can just draw without any reference, just an idea.

Which one person would you like to tattoo, and why?
Another very hard question. If there could only be one – Uncle Snoop Doggy Dogg.

When not working, what do you like to do with your downtime?
Either design tattoos or do tattoos. Every moment that I’m not tattooing I’m spending with my wife and two beautiful daughter’s, whether it’s skateboarding or playing tea party and wearing make up.

What does a day in your life usually consist of?
Wake up at 5am, hit the bong, reply to messages, emails and DM’S, shower, get ready, and leave for the shop. Road rage, design, tattoo, consult, go home, hit bong, play, eat, design, make sure I’m in bed by 1am.

If not tattoos, my family!

What advice would you give anyone wanting to book their first tattoo?
Definitely research styles and make sure your ideas are realistic, and remember tattoos are forever.
