With the country’s best skaters battling it out across the Junior, Women’s and Men’s divisions, the competition was intense from the opening runs. Skaters pushed the limits of what was possible on the course, chasing podium finishes, prize money and the chance to etch their names into Street Lines history.

With the standard of skateboarding continuing to rise and a new generation of skaters making their mark, the tournament proved once again why this event has become a major fixture on the South African skateboarding calendar. Firmly established as one of SA’s premier skateboarding competitions, Street Lines continues to raise the bar every year, and this year was no different. The qualifying rounds saw riders fight for their place in the finals, with every trick, line and landing crucial in the race for a spot among the finalists.

The competition format put both consistency and creativity to the test. During qualifying, competitors were given two 45-second runs, with their best run counting towards the leaderboard. The finals turned up the pressure, combining two 45-second runs with four Best Trick attempts, with each skater’s highest-scoring run and top two tricks contributing to their final score.

Judges considered difficulty, consistency, style and use of the park when scoring the skaters, with only the strongest performances earning a place in the finals.

The Junior Division continues to play an important role and remains a key part of Street Lines’ commitment to developing the sport, giving the next generation of skateboarders the opportunity to step into a professionally run competition and experience what it takes to compete at a higher level.
