On Friday 18th October, Sins of Style Tattoos hosted Four Hundred Flash Friday. The first of an ongoing series of events where tattooists and tattoo collectors get together to celebrate the more light hearted side of traditional flash-based tattoos.

The idea behind Flash Friday is that the tattoo artists draw up sheets of flash containing relatively basic, original, once-off, ideas for tattoos that are all priced at R400. Perfect for first-timers and great as filler pieces for already avid tattoo collectors alike.
Flash Friday hopes to encourage new collectors to get their first fun tattoo and also helps keeps things affordable, but mostly it’s just for the fun of making a bunch of cool little tattoos.

The original, hand-drawn flash was showcased in the shop windows overnight and having already been advertised online as a first-come, first-served basis it had people lined up outside the door before the shop had even opened on the Friday morning. The shop was buzzing from the minute the doors opened until well past midnight and from all accounts a great time was had by all who attended.

Sins of Style would like to thank everyone who showed up to get tattooed, all those involved in facilitating the event, and also to the guys at Monster Energy for their help with drinks and the mega braai action that went down in the courtyard at the back of the shop.
