Quiksilver kicks off their 3 part Get Free Series this weekend (21 and 22 March) at Kommetjie in Cape Town. The new surfing series will cater for the Open Mens, Under 20 Boys and Under 16 Boys divisions, and is sanctioned by Surfing South Africa. Carrying a 3A PST rating and the cream of the crop will be attracted by the R108 000 on offer.
The Under 20 Boys division is turning out to be an exciting and competitive field Michael Monk, Current SA Junior Champ, is set to lead the charge. The likes of Shane Sykes, Max Armstrong and Diran Zakarian will be some of the tough competition he’ll have to face.
The Under 16 Boys surfers are very excited to take part in this year’s series. Angelo and Joshe Faulkner are planning to stamp their authority in the 1st event but will face tough competition from Adin Masencamp and Ethan Fletcher, among others.
