Give us a quick introduction into Tyla?
I am a farm girl at heart (grew up on our beautiful Ingelsby farm in KZN), I have 6 brothers, and I’m fortunate to say that my passions are my jobs.
What does your daily routine normally consist of?
The beauty of my job is that not every day is the same, but on most days you’ll find me meditating, exercising, instructing, auditioning, performing, and seeking out quirky cafes or little adventures for some down time.
If you could ask your future self one question only, what would it be?
Will teleportation ever be a thing?
What have been some of your highlights of 2018 so far?
Going on holiday with my entire family for the first time in 6 years (there is usually always someone who can’t be there), and making the move to Cape Town in June.
Which day of the week do you look forward to most?
Sunday! It’s adventure day (if it’s a work-free day).
How would you best sum your shoot for this feature?
Body-Positivity: where one accepts, encourages, loves, adores and praises the body they have. Where one takes pride in their body and how they look at themselves.
What is your favorite social media platform?
Instagram, it’s quick and easy. I also love captivating images that come with interesting/ inspiring captions.
What two things can you not live without?
I’m such a lamo but I can honestly only think of my water bottle, I always have water with me no matter what.
Do you have any superstitions?
Not really but I will never walk under a ladder only because of the song “Life” by Des’ree. I used to sing it all the time growing up, “Never walk under ladders, I keep a rabbit’s tail”.
What is your definition of sexy?
Knowing who you are and fiercely, fearlessly and apologetically owning it.
First dates. What should they consist of?
Laughter, super delicious food and great conversation.
What’s the first thing that comes to mind when we mention:
Adulting? That I need to contact my mom [laughs]!. She’s my live ‘How to to Adult’ manual. Moms always know the where’s, what’s, why’s, and how’s of adulting.
Curious? Wanting to know what the higher powers are keeping from us?! What have they discovered or witnessed that hasn’t been shared with the rest of the world. I am so C.U.R.I.O.U.S.
Attractive? Someone who is unafraid to be them-self.
Holiday? Camping somewhere amazing with my family.
Naked? A celebration of ones body no matter what phase of life they’re in. There is a unique beauty, vulnerability and story in nudity.
Flirtatious? Epic fail [laughs]! I cannot be flirtatious in real life to save my life.
