You are a fitness model/babe. How often do you train and do you compete?
I train for 1h30 min to 2h a day and yes I do compete. My next competition is Western Province on the 25th August so I’m in full training and diet mode.
How did you get into it?
I always wanted to get more involved in the fitness industry and knew that I would have to compete to do that. I just had no idea how much I would actually love it and now it’s safe to say that I’m hooked!
What are your goals in the fitness industry?
My general goal is to always be better than I was yesterday. To some, health and fitness is a fad, lasting a few months or weeks at a time and to others is a lifelong sentence. So what works for me is to always compete with myself to ensure that I’m moving forward. The benefit as well is being able to positively influence others with their fitness goals and the ability to make a difference is hugely rewarding.
What is the most embarrassing thing that has happened or you have seen happen to someone during training or on stage?
There are so many things that can go wrong with the tanning process when competing as we literally need to morph into a shade that is 1000 times darker than our natural completion. So streaking, splotches, white hands and feet and the dreaded orange tinge. Also quite tragic is when a competitors bikini strap snaps just before going on stage.
Tell us your idea of a good time?
A great bottle of wine, good company and a delicious meal.
Summer is finally around the corner – what are you looking forward to doing that winter has stopped you from doing?
BEACH! Tanning, flip flops, sunglasses, bikinis and short skirts.
How do you feel when you are doing a bikini shoot and the whole crew is staring at you?
Oddly comfortable! I think an alter ego kicks in and feeling good about how you look plays a major role. That’s the one thing about training hard and eating clean – you are guaranteed results. So when you have worked your butt off and are proud of the results then doing shoots or being on stage is a breeze.
What type of shoot do you feel is the sexiest?
Definitely bikini.
Would you ever pose for Playboy? If so why and if not why?
I’m kind of on the fence. If I said no I wouldn’t have enough to back up my statement and the same goes for saying yes.
When in the mood, what do you do to get your man’s attention and get him to the bedroom?
A little outfit, need I say more?
What one thing gets you on the mood?
I think that feeling sexy goes hand in hand with feeling good about yourself. So any kind of pampering is always a good thing.
Do you have any party tricks?
I used to be called tequila Sheila!
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you?
I have a herb and veggie garden and I love to paint.
