Welcome back to the pages of LW Mag. What’s been happening in the life of Carrie-Leigh over the past few years?
So much has happened since I last shot with LW Magazine back in 2010. I completed my degree in Marketing and Business Management as well as my certificate in Exercise Science. I went overseas to further pursue my modelling career last year, I’ve taken part in various pageants and modelling competitions over the last few years and of course I’ve been dancing at numerous corporate events and shows. I have officially retired from cheerleading for the Lions and I now choreograph and manage the girls. I have been travelling quite a lot this year and I am also currently working on a very exciting new venture, which will come to life early next year.
What went through your mind when we asked you to be featured again?
I was very excited to work with LW Mag again as I thoroughly enjoyed my last shoot with the team and the outcome was fantastic. I love working with people who are not only professional but also pleasant and enjoyable to collaborate with and the team at LW Mag are just that.
We made you get into some awkward positions and hard to get places during our shoot. What were your thoughts on that?
The shoot was definitely challenging! Trying to get into and maintain difficult poses while not falling into the river or floating away downstream wasn’t easy, but I worked with true professionals who knew exactly what they were doing and I knew that it would ultimately be worth it. I have worked with Hotlens in the past and I trusted their vision for the shoot and had full confidence in the direction they gave me. I had a great time and it was by far one of the most fun shoots I’ve done in a long time.

What did you enjoy most about the shoot and which scene do you think guys will like the most?
The last swimwear scene we did was my favourite scene to shoot. Working with people who are professional, passionate about what they do and perfectionists makes me enjoy modelling and it definitely makes for great photos.
You’ve been in the modelling industry for some time now. What are some of the craziest moments you have experienced?
Modelling in China was definitely a very unique and crazy experience for me. The culture and lifestyle in Asia is vastly different to that of Africa.
What have been some of your highlights and lowlights of your modelling career?
Highlights: Having the opportunity to model abroad, making the finals of Miss World Bikini International 2010, shooting the 2011 LW Mag calender, making the finals of Face of News Café 2010 and Miss Earth South Africa in 2012, being the face of Beach Bunny Swimwear and Lu-May swimwear, making the FHM top 100 list and featuring in magazines such as Fighters Only and FHM. I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing photographers and designers throughout my modelling career and all of these experiences I will hold with me forever.
Lowlights: None

How much longer do you plan on modelling and whats next for Carrie-Leigh?
This will be one of my last shoots. I have a couple more shoots coming up over the next few months and then I will be retiring from the modelling industry. I will continue dancing at corporate events and shows till the end of this year. In terms of the future, I am currently working on something I am very passionate about and the details of this new venture will be made public early next year. I hope to also get married and have children within the next few years. I believe being a wife and mother are two of the most important and rewarding roles a woman has in this life.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I am an absolute bookworm. I read two books a month. I usually read biographies and if I’m in the mood for fiction I’ll read anything by Jackie Collins. Currently I am reading a book on ISIS entitled ‘ISIS: The State of Terror’ as well as a book on the infamous Zodiac Killer entitled ‘The Most Dangerous Animal of All.’
What are your tell tale signs when you are into a guy and flirting with him?
The only guy I flirt with is my boyfriend. I’m a very straight-forward type of person. If I like you I will tell you.

Do blondes really have more fun?
Of course we do. We have more adventures and tend to leave a legacy behind.
If you could build the perfect guy, what would he look like and what type of mannerisms would he have?
I am not one to go for looks when it comes to looking for a partner. Looks fade and don’t interest me in the slightest. I prefer a man of substance and intelligence. Someone I can learn from, grow with and have stimulating conversations with. That being said my boyfriend is the perfect man for me. Intelligent, ambitious, hard working, successful, kind-hearted, respectful, unique, inspirational, philanthropic and on top of all of that he is utterly handsome – bonus.
For all the guys reading your interview and enjoying your photo-set in this feature, what would you like to say to them?
“Women were made to be loved, not understood.” Keep reading LW Mag for the best in Action Sports, Music , Babes and everything awesome!

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when we mention:

Time wasting? Watching TV.
Turn-on? Intelligence and success.
Turn-off? Bad manners and lack of respect.
