Welcome back to the pages of LW Mag. What’s been going on in the life of Kayla since we last featured you?
Thank you so much for the feature again! Well, I have gotten married, built a new home and started my own business.

You’re looking better than ever. What’s your secret to staying is such good shape?
I eat a lot of food and its 90% healthy during the week and on weekends I’ll ease off a bit. I never skip meals and I train 5-6 days a week.

How has married life been treating you?
Married life is so great! We have a lot of fun together. He’s my best friend.

Where do you see yourself in five years time?
Hopefully I would have expanded my business, Mamavation, started a new venture and perhaps have a little mini me or two.

With the festive season around the corner, what are you looking forward to most?
I love this time of year! My birthday is 8 days before Christmas and we usually go overseas in December, so it’s just a feel good time for me.

Have you got anything exciting planned for the December holidays?
Yup, Mauritius and maybe another destination. We can’t get enough of travelling.

You recently spent some time in Cape Town, shooting with Epic Shoots. What were some of the highlights of your trip?
Shooting with Epix Shoots was definitely one of them. I found some really cool eating spots, so of course that’s a win. Also, Boulders beach was cool to see.

How would you best sum up the experience of shooting with Epix Shoots for this feature?
It was so cold that day but it was super fun and worth it. Shaun is an incredible photographer.

Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I am a qualified lifeguard (I worked in the US after college). And, as much as I’ve tried, I reeaallyyy don’t like wine.

When does Kayla’s wild side come out to play?
When I’ve had a few drinks [laughs].

If you could play the lead role in any movie, which would it be?
Jumanji. I love Kevin Hart, Jack Black and The Rock. I honestly think it would be amazing and hilarious.

Hit us with your best pick-up line?
I have never used one, so don’t hold it against me, “Does your left eye hurt? Because you’ve been looking right all day”.
