Full name: Clarice Pienaar
Nickname: Clarice. A particular group of people call me Clarence and its really stuck – weird, I know
Age: 22
Hometown: Pretoria
Day job: Full time student , part time waitress
Likes: Food (way too much), animals, fitness and health
Dislikes: Coriander (it’s like the devil’s lettuce), rude and/ or pretentious people.
Special talents: I am actually very flexible and I can sing pretty good. I’m smart when it comes to working with numbers
Give us a quick introduction to Clarice?
I’m a full time student currently studying at University of Pretoria, I waitress during my off time for some extra money because I love buying clothes way too much. I have lived in Pretoria my entire life, and my biggest dream is to go live overseas in Australia or Dubai. I love to travel and meet new people. I’m a very easy going person and I’m very happy-go-lucky. I’m also an optimist and it annoys me when someone is negative all the time [laughs].
What drives you?
The fact that I know I can be better and that I’ll forever be able to better myself. I never want to settle in myself and I work on improving myself everyday, both the physical and mental aspects of myself.
How have you adapted to the current new-way-of-life due to the lockdown and Coronavirus pandemic?
Honestly, I haven’t. Not being able to go do the things I normally do such as going to gym, varsity and seeing my friends, really does affect me but I’m just looking at the bright side right now, focusing on myself and on what’s more important to me. I feel like this whole lockdown situation was needed to give us humans a different perception of life and for us to realise how we take everything for granted.
What are your go-to ways to keep active and pass the time?
Bodyweight exercises as well as resistance band training. But in all honesty, I miss the gym and being able to lift heavy. Twerking is also a great form of cardio when I’m not in the mood to go run on the treadmill.
What does a day in the lockdown life of Clarice consist of?
Struggling to wake up in the mornings is first, I then make myself some coffee with almond milk and I organise my work that I have to do for the day. Then later I’ll go do a mini workout , if I’m not lazy. I’ve honestly been way too lazy because of lockdown. At night I just relax and watch movies or series to unwind.
What are you looking forward to doing most when life returns to some kind of normal?
Yeah, “some kind of normal”. I feel like I’ve gotten so used to lockdown life by now, but I feel like what I’m looking forward to most is to be able to be free to do whatever I want. Going to gym and seeing my friends are obviously at the top of my list, and getting my nails done.
How would you best explain the experience of being in front of the camera?
I love it. Every shoot is different, because at every shoot I see different aspects of myself. I can be very hard on myself, so seeing myself through the eyes of other people as well as camera lenses changes the way I view myself. It’s exciting to be in front of the camera and to see the end results.
Which part of your body do you enjoy flaunting the most?
I guess my followers would know, my abs and my booty. I have good genetics when it comes to having a small waist and honestly I’ve worked very hard on my bum. I feel like what’s the point in working so hard on something but never be able to actually flaunt it.
If you could change anything about yourself, what would it be and why?
I’m a lazy perfectionist. I wish I could change the lazy part [laughs]. I feel like I could achieve so much more if I wasn’t this lazy. I’m horrible.
Which social media app do you enjoy using the most?
Instagram, because I love engaging with people on it. I use it for ideas for photo shoots and it inspires me to see so many people focused on being the best versions of themselves. I know no one’s life is as perfect as they make it out to be on social media, heck mine isn’t near perfect, but I love seeing creators creating posts and photos that’s their passion and I love supporting them.
What are the top five things on your bucket list?
Travel the world – I feel like this is on everyone’s bucket list [laughs].
Having a successful career that I enjoy doing.
Making sure that none of my family members nor anyone I love ever go through life struggling financially or in any other way.
Start an animal charity in poor areas to help all stray animals and uplifting the community.
Just being happy with where I am in life and with who I am.
