Name: Andene Thomson
What’s your motto for 2011?
“Sometimes we need to stop analysing the past, stop planning the future, stop figuring out precisely how we feel, stop deciding exactly what we want and just see what happens.”
When last did you partake in a dare and what did you do?
A few years ago a couple of my girlfriends and I were dared to run through the sprinklers on a golf course just wearing [our] underwear! Definitely my idea of having fun on a golf course!
Would you say you’re more naughty or nice?
I would say I’m nice sprinkled with a bit of naughty on top.
Skydiving or bungee jumping?
I’m a girl who likes to keep her feet firmly on the ground!
If you were a cartoon character who would you be?
Laura Croft for sure! Who doesn’t want to be beautiful, intelligent, athletic and dangerous with a weapon?
Have you tried any alternative sports?
If you consider freestyle dancing an alternative sport then yes! I have been dancing since the age of 8 and I’ve won numerous South African titles over the years. I also represented South Africa at the World Freestyle Championships in Blackpool, England in 2007. I’m a dancing diva.
What’s your day job?
At the moment I’m rocking the student life!
What’s something you know now but you wish you’d known five years ago?
“It’s not about waiting for the storm to pass. It’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
Sex in public place, a “do” or a “don’t”?
Hmmm, I’ll have to keep you guessing on that one. A girl has got to have some secrets.
Name one of your proudly South African moments?
Definitely watching our beautiful country pull off an amazing World Cup in 2010! I still get goosebumps thinking about it!
