The first round of the WOMZA South African Motocross Nationals brought to you by Monster Energy and TRP Distributors is in the books. The sandy track of Rover Raceway in Port Elizabeth played host to a weekend of top class racing action.

Riders were tested over two days of racing which saw Practice and Heat 1 go down on the Saturday, and Heats 2 and 3 take place on the Sunday. The Full Throttle Monster Energy Yamaha riders Sacha Naude and Michael Kok dominated the MX1 class by taking 1st and 2nd respectively. Royce Griffin finished off the podium on 3rd.

The MX2 class was again dominated by the Full Throttle Monster Energy Yamaha riders of Tristan Purdon took the overall 1 point head of teammate Sacha Naude. Anthony Raynard was there to put the pressure on and took a convincing win in Heat 1 by leading the race from start to finish but finished 3rd in heat 2 and 3 to finish in 3rd overall.

Racing was intense all weekend long and has set the bar high for the rest of the season. Monster Energy have got the aesthetics covered by making sure the track, start and finish lines look world class, and that the Monster Energy girls are on hand to get the Heats started.

Round 2 will be taking place in Cape Town on the 19th and 20th April at the Melkbos Racetrack. Book the date now and make sure you’re there to catch the action. A big thanks goes out to the sponsors involved for making the 2014 series the best one yet; DC Shoes, Bikefind.co.za, Drift Action Cameras, Expand a Sign, Thor, Bridgestone, FMF, Bel Ray, WOMZA and Kyocera
