el Jimador premium 100% Agave tequila teamed up with artists Jason Hayes, Ian Armstrong and Stuart Moerdyk to create unique handcrafted Agave Surfboards. Now, el Jimador are giving away these surfboards.
The manufacturing of the surfboards took days to complete as each of the boards were handcrafted following a 5 step process. The first step being the harvesting of the Agave, thereafter the stems milled into logs and glued together to create the blank.
The blanks were given to Ian Armsrtong to cut and shape them down into the various surfboards, being a single fin, twin fin, keel fin fish and quad thruster. The boards then went in for glassing and fin installation before drying. Some of SA’s top surfers, Max Armstrong, Mikey February and Matt Bromley did some basic testion on the boards as well as some filming.
Until the 31st January 2015 el Jimador is running a promotion where anyone who buys el Jumador 100% Agave Tequila (not for sale to persons under the age if 18) can stand a chance of winning a handcrafted surfboard. Just pop into one of the participating stores o, buy a bottle 750ml bottle of el Jimador and SMS the unique code on the pack to enter. Or purchase an el Jimador at one of the participating bars, fill in the entry form and drop it in the entry box at the bar.
