The Watermark High have just released their first single and music video entitled Saudade into the South African music scene. The single is taken off the upcoming EP which is set to release in March. It’s interesting structure, dreamy atmosphere and mix of chopped samples are signature of The Watermark High.
Wondering what Saudade means? It is a Portuguese word with no direct translation to English. It refers to a longing for someone or something absent, a feeling of nostalgia. With the inclusion of vocal samples, the single ended up a more of a song than just an instrumental.
