The First Round of the 2023 UCI Downhill MTB World Cup season took place over the weekend in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. Riders were met with the new racing format, seeing the Qualification, Semi-Finals and Finals all counting towards valuable season points.
In his first year riding the Elite Men’s class, Jordan Williams proved dominant with an incredible Final run to take the overall. Loris Vergier finished in 2nd place ahead of Loic Bruni in 3rd.
In the Elite Women’s race, the returning Rachel Atherton took the win, edging out Camille Balanche by a margin of 0.5 seconds. Nina Hoffman followed closely in 3rd place.
