Round 2 of the 2021 UCI Downhill MTB World Cup season took place in Les Gets, France. Riders were met with a completely new track that was favoured by all and produced incredible racing action.
During the Men’s race the rain came and saw riders deal with a track that was unrelenting in its unpredictability. Max Hartenstern took advantage of the early favourable conditions, putting down a time that looked to hold as the weather and track began to deteriorate. Baptiste Pierron followed suite and slotted in with a time that would secure 3rd place. Thibaut Dapréla took to the track with a sensational run to take the lead and ultimately the win.

In the Women’s race Tahnée Seagrave put together an exceptionally smooth run with a time that would see here take the overall win. Camille Balanche was the first to challenge Seagrave’s time but a few mistakes saw her cross the line in 3rd place. Myriam Nicole was one track to put in a winning run but a crash in her run saw her cross the line just 0.252 seconds shy of the win.
