The final stop of the 2019 UCI Downhill MTB World Cup took place in Snowshoe, West Virginia, USA – and what a race it was! With the overall championship on the line and a host of riders pushing for the top spot, it resulted in what is possibly the most thrilling race to date.
Not to mention the all new track thrown into the mix, which featured big jumps, technical rock gardens and flat sprint sections that tested the riders throughout the weekend.

In the Men’s race it was between Amaury Pierron and Loic Bruni for the overall. Pierron was the first of the two to race down the hill and put in an incredible run with a clear five-second lead with a time of 3:04.283. Bruni played it safe and crossed the line with a time of 3:05.776, good enough for 4th place on the day and enough to be crowned the 2019 World Cup champion.

Charlie Harrison was on form all weekend long and finished in an impressive 3rd place with his time of 3:04.598.
It was all Danny Hart however, the fastest qualifier and the last man down the mountain posting a blistering fast run crossing the line with a time 0.656 seconds faster than Pierron’s with a time of 3:03:627 to take the win.

Greg Minnaar was flawless in his run and fastest in the second sector but his time of 3:06.022 was not enough as he slotted into 5th place.

The Women’s race saw Tahnée Seagrave and Myriam Nicole reemerged from injury adding to the title pressure. Seagrave, after a crash in qualifying, finished in 4th place with a time of 3:46.742.
Both Myriam Nicole and Veronika Widmann managed to best Seagrave’s time to finish in 2nd (3:45.027)and 3rd (3:46.514) respectively.
Marine Cabirou was on another lever and in a flawless run, rode gaps and lines which none of the other riders attempted, taking the lead and win with a time of 03:43:032.
