Video | 2019 Downhill MTB World Cup Fort William Podium Runs

Reigning UCI Downhill MTB World Cup champions, Rachel Atherton and Amaury Pierron, put down their marker for a 2019 repeat with victory at wet Round 2 of the series at Fort William in Scotland.

Loris Vergier, who qualified fastest in the Men’s Division, was the last rider down the hill with a respectable and consistent in a time of 4:32.209 that put him into 3rd place. Troy Brosnan managed to put a few split-seconds into Vergier with a time of 4:32.160 to take 2nd overall. It was Amaury Pierron put down a blistering run beating his competition by over three seconds to claim victory with a time of 4:28.578. Pierron almost ended himself on the last jump of the course but luckily managed to hold on through the finish line.
South Africa’s Greg Minnaar was back to form mixing it up with the front runners and finished in 6th place with a time of 4:36.893.

Opening round winner, Tahnée Seagrave, unfortunately crashed out of the Women’s Division during practice injuring her shoulder – speedy recovery Tahnée. Rachel Atherton was on form and claimed the win with her time of 5:15.560. Leading qualifier, Tracey Hannah was up at the third split, but lost time and finished in a time of 5:17.176 to settle for 2nd place. Nina Hoffmann took the 3rd step of the podium with a time of 5:24.382.
