Stop 4 of the 2018 UCI Downhill MTB World Cup took place at Val di Sole in Italy. The track was physically and mentally demanding with the its technical and gnarly sections that testing the riders from start to finish.
Amaury Pierron was again untouchable in the Men’s race winning both the qualifying and the final to making it his 3rd 2018 win in a row. Pierron’s time of 3:36.788 edged out Laurie Greenland who held onto 2nd with a time of 3.37.312. Danny Hart claimed 3rd place with a time of 3:37.448. After some bad luck in the last two rounds, Luca Shaw finally had a solid run and finish to take 4th place in a time of 3:39.036. Thomas Estaque put down an impressive run in the early stages of the final, 3:39.254 which saw him round off the podium in 5th.
Tahnée Seagrave claimed victory in the Women’s race when she crossed the line wth a time of 4:26.424, just 0.123 seconds ahead of Rachel Atherton (4:26,547). Monika Hrastnik grabbed her first World Cup podium in 3rd place with 2:28,029.
