Full name: Justin Hurtworld

Years tattooing: 1 year
Tattoo style: I welcome all styles but I really enjoy doing Custom Lettering and Black and Grey work
Hourly rate: R700
What first attacked you to the tattoo industry?
From a young age all of the musicians I listened to were all covered in tattoos and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.
What are your pros and cons of being a full time tattoo artist?
My pros are that I get to make a career out of something I am passionate about and there is more flexibility than an office job.
Cons would be the challenges that come with dealing with people every day.
How do you like to ensure you keep progressing as an artist?
Exploring many different mediums of art keeps my creative mind open.
What does a day in your life usually consist of?
Every waking moment my mind is running wild about what I can create. Tattoos, Graffiti, Music, Clothing and custom furniture are my main focuses at the moment, but the options are really endless.
Explain the experience of working out of Levitation Tattoo Studio?
I was used to working in street shops so to come to a facility like this was a shock to my system.
Tell us something most people don’t know about you?
I’m very shy when it comes to approaching women and I’m extremely insecure.
What style of tattoo do you enjoy creating the most, and why?
Script – when given the creative freedom the possibilities are endless. I also feel like words hold so much power.
What are some of the more weird requested you have received?
The weirdest request was the purple cough syrup drop on someone’s face.
New tattoo healing is an important part of the process. Explain how clients should go about this?
Levitation has post care healing instructions that can be found on all our social media channels for clients.
Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
Hopefully happily married and being the first tattoo artist in South Africa to specialise in custom lettering tattoos.
