SupaDrift Series 08 Race Report

The final round of the 2014 Auto Trader SupaDrift Series took place over the weekend in Durban at the Lotus FM SuperCharg’d event. Over 35 of the country’s best in drifting gathered to battle it out on the exciting parking lot course.

A brief spell of rain saw drivers rely on their skills on the dampened track. With the 2014 title at stake competitors pushed the limits resulting in 2013 champion, Jason Webb, hitting the wall and writing off his car during his second qualifying run.

In the final it was Jim McFarlane up against Shane Gutzeit. Gutzeit went in a bit too aggressive and hit the wall leaving McFarlane with a clear line to take 1st place. McFarlane drove consistent with precise and clean runs showing he was well deserved of the victory.

With the series finished and the points compiled it was Wade van Zummerun who finished on top of the leader board to take the 2014 SupaDrift Series Championship.
