Give us the background of how you got into skateboarding?
I remember when my parents use to go shopping at PNP for hours and I used to go on my own mission to the kiddies section to look at the toys to kill time and maybe find a toy to beg my parents to buy me. Until one day I saw a skateboard just chilling on the shelf. I went to fetch it started pushing on it, it never went too fast as it had probably the shittest bearings in but I begged my parents to buy it cause I was hyped to just roll, surprisingly they bought it.
In 5 words, what does skating mean to you?
I’m in love with Skateboarding!

You’re a local at the YBF Plaza, what are some of your favourite lines and features to skate there?
I love skating the handrails the most (I wish they were higher) and trying new tricks on them. Secondly, I enjoy skating the euro gap we make using the moveable launch ramps over the stairs! The bump to bar is also so G!
What other parks or spots do you like to skate?
If I’m not skating at YBF I’d probably hit the streets around Sandton as there are so many good spots to skate. Adventures around Sandton are the best.

What type of skater do you classify yourself as?
If we’re trying to classify myself between a park or street skater, I’d have to be honest to say that I’m a park rat, but I still do try make the effort to mission out to the street sometimes, sometimes!
What goes through your mind when you’re out skating?
Nothing really goes through my mind when I’m skating, I’m basically just focusing on the trick I’m trying to attempt. But I do get this fuzzy feeling in my heart when I’m skating. The best feeling ever!

What goals and plans do you have in place for 2016 to further your skating career?
Trying to save a few bucks to head out either on a US or European skate trip. Looking forward to skating the up and coming Kimberley Diamond Cup competitions. I need to try make money this year!
Where would you like to see the sport of skateboarding take you?
To a level where I can have the most fun possible. Unfortunately in South Africa there’s no level that could take you to earn a massive salary to survive on, although some kids assume R2000 will do the deeds!
