JBay resident Sebastian Williams will be all set for a massive performance at the Billabong Junior Series Final 2016, happening this weekend at Seal Point, Cape St Francis. The powerful goofy-footer, who learned his chops at a perfect sand-bottom point in Mexico, will be coming in hot after his recent performance at the Vissla ISA World Junior Surfing Championships – Sebastian was the highest placed U16 Boy surfer, when he placed 13th.
Sebastian’s high-performance full-speed approach to his surfing, as well as his familiarity with right-hand point-breaks after surfing Supertubes for the last few years will hold him in good stead at Seal Point, one of the most perfect right-hand point breaks in South Africa. Last year Sebastian won the U16 division at the final event in the Billabong Junior Series at Seal Point, as well as winning the U16 Series.
The Billabong Junior Series Final will take place from Friday 30 September – Sunday 2 October, and the forecast for the weekend looks promising. Light winds and good swell, as well as a spring tide weekend bodes well for good surf and high performance surfing.
The following week will see the best junior surfers in the country move down to JBay for the Billabong SA Junior Champs presented by BOS, and Sebastian will be competing in that event as well. Last year he placed second in the U15 division.
