The Rip Curl GromSearch Series 2023 was a 5-event tour around the coast of South Africa with events in Cape Town, Victoria Bay, Port Alfred, Scottburgh and the final event at Seal Point, Cape St Francis.
The Rip Curl South Africa team riders were present at all of the events and consists of current U14 South African Boys Champ Ben Esterhuyse, recent U14 Boys runner-up Kai Stubbs, U18 Girls runner-up Gemma Hanafey, Joel Fowles, Rylan Jarvis, Jack Erlank and Blake Crankshaw.
The tour was a resounding success and has fast become the most popular element of competitive surfing in South Africa. At the final tournament, the stakes were high, the waves were highly contestable, and some of the best surfing of the year emerged for the judges to see and score.
