On Saturday 7 March Ride Authority put on a Freestyle Motocross Open Day at Nick De Wit’s FMX Park in Muldersdrift, Gauteng. The goal of the open day? To get up and coming riders together at the park and enjoy a day of riding dirt and steel ramps, with the help and guidance from some of SA’s top riders.
A light rain before the event made for perfect conditions on the prime prepped park. Slightly overcast weather didn’t deter the masses, both riders and spectators, from coming out to enjoy a great day out. In between the amateur runs, the pro rider put on demo runs for the crowds. All fun with no pressure was the order of the day. Strider Bikes were also there with a cool setup for the kids.

Stand out performances included huge whips by Grant Frerichs and stylish technical tricks by Nick De Wit, Brendan Potter, Dallan Goldman, Stuart Couper, Jarred van Vuuren and Mike Oyston. A mention has to go out to all the up and coming riders who came out and tried their hand at hitting the jumps, well done.

Brendan Potter has been working hard in the foam pit to get his Backflips dialed again. During the first pro demo of the day he pulled it out the bag and landed them to dirt consistently. Definitely the highlight of the day and a proud moment for South African Freestyle Motocross. Congrats Brendan!

Shout out to Ride Authority, iLed, JSS Industrial Coatings, Extreme Sport Shows, Red Bull, Renico and eZi Trailers for making the event possible.
