Four Spots. One Epic Day.

Red Bull Spot Check Cape Town is all about bringing the community to the streets. Over the course of one action-packed day, the crew will hit four legendary Cape Town spots: City Bowl Park, Company Gardens, Thibault Square, and the Civic Centre; in a series of cash-for-tricks jam sessions.

The day culminates in a final demo and community session at the public-voted winning location, turning the city into one massive open skatepark. Skaters and spectators alike can expect packed demos, wild tricks, and unforgettable moments that capture the true essence of street skateboarding.
And for one lucky skater, the reward is massive, the overall winner will earn a spot to compete at an international Red Bull skate event overseas.

Meet the Skaters
Among the global icons landing in Cape Town is Zion Wright, the Florida native who’s taken the skate world by storm. Skating since the age of four, Zion has become one of the most versatile riders on the planet; equally comfortable attacking massive handrails or spinning 540s out of bowls. From winning PHXAM to representing Team USA at the Tokyo Olympics, Zion embodies the progression and creativity that define Red Bull Spot Check.
He’ll be joined by a stacked lineup of international and local stars, including Jamie Foy, CJ Collins, Chloe Covell, Gavin Bottger, and South Africa’s own Brandon Valjalo – all bringing their unique energy and talent to the streets of Cape Town.

A Celebration of Skate Culture

For Brandon Valjalo, Red Bull Spot Check is more than just a competition; it’s a movement.
“Having Red Bull Spot Check come to South Africa is huge for our local scene,” says Valjalo. “Bringing international skaters like Zion, Foy, Chloe, CJ and Gavin creates that kind of energy that will motivate the next generation and shows them what is possible.
Our local skaters have been putting in the work for years, often without much exposure, and this event is a chance to finally showcase that talent on a global stage. What I love most about Spot Check is that it’s not just about competition; it’s about creativity, community, and celebrating the unique spots that make South Africa such a special place to skate.”
