The debut of Red Bull Hardline in Australia took place over the weekend at the Maydena Bike Park in Tasmania, and saw Ronan Dunne put down a brilliant run to take the win over a stacked field of 27 riders.
Ronan Dunne
The Tasmanian course included a fast Highway section, massive Road Gap, high-flying Shark Fins and the final big kicker to finish. The carefully curated 2.3km of trails from top to bottom saw riders push 70km/h+ in some areas with the largest gap jump being 23m and largest vertical drop of 10m+.
Bernard Kerr
Riders took to the track for their race runs in perfect weather. Up at the top of the time sheet, Dunne clocked 3:08.145 to triumph with Bernard Kerr (3:10.021) and George Brannigan (3:11.021) rounding out the podium.
Gracey Hemstreet
Female riders Tahnee Seagrave, Harriet Burbidge-Smith, Hannah Bergemann and Cami Nogueira failed to qualify, but Gracey Hemstreet and Louise-Anna Ferguson did with both getting down the course to make history. Hemstreet earned Rider of the Week.
