The 2nd round of the Quiksilver Takes One To Know One Surfing Series took place in contestable 1 metre surf in Umdloti. Over 90 of South Africa’s top surfers gather to compete in the 3A PST rated event in both the Open Men and Pro Junior Boy’s divisions.
Beyrick De Vries locked in a solid performance to take the victory in the Open Men division. Beyrick chose the biggest wave and pulled off two impressive maneuvers which saw him post the highest score in the 225 minute final. Brandon Jackson claimed 2nd place with Casey Grant hot on his heels in 3rd. Daniel Redman finished in 4th.
In the Pro Junior Boy’s division Diran Zakarian got off to a flying start with consistent aerial moves which put him into an early lead. Diran continued to build on his lead and secured the overall win ahead of Slade Prestwich who finished in 2nd. Dylan Lightfoot took 3rd place with Mikey Venter in 4th.
The final round of the Quiksilver Takes On To Know One Series will be taking place in the Southern Cape at Victoria Bay on the 21st and 22nd September.
