Round 2 of the Quiksilver Takes One To Know One surfing series will be taking place at Umdloti’s main beach in KZN where top South African surfers will be competing in 2 divisions on the 31st May and 1st June for over R30k in prize money.
The 3A rated Pro Surf contest will include the open men’s division and the pro junior division. David Van Zyl took his 1st career victory at the 1st event in Cape Town earlier this year. Others competing and worth looking out for are Slade Prestwich, Dale Staples, Michael February, Diran Zakarian, Jarred Veldhuis, Ricky Basnett, Josh Redman, Daniel Redman and Beyrick de Vries.
Due to the lack of local open men surf events the Quiksilver Takes One To Know One tour was introduced. Shout out to the sponsors for making this event possible – Quiksilver, Techniblock Sunscreen, Zigzag, Drift Action Cameras, Skullcandy and Red Bull.
Surfing gets underway at 8am on both days and the finals will take place at 3pm on the Sunday, so make sure to get down to the beach to witness some epic surfing. For more info visit the event website.
