Quiksilver Get Free Series Umhlanga Results

The second of three Quiksilver Get Free Series surfing contests took place at Bronze Beach in Umhlanga at the weekend with over 70 of SA’s top surfers competing in the solid 4 to 5 foot swell.

A clear standout in the Open Men’s division, Beyrick De Vries looked comfortable through his heats with powerful surfing and impressive airs proving too good for his competitors and took home the win. Micheal February finished in 2nd with Dale Staples in 3rd and Brandon Jackson in 4th.

Shane Sykes dominated the U20 Junior Boys division taking the win and a cool R4000 cash from Dylan Lightfoot in 2nd, Matt McGillivray in 3rd and Wade Simkiss in 4th.

In the U16 division it was Sebastian Williams who claimed victory ahead of Ethan Fletcher in 2nd, Jake Elkington in 3rd and Adin Masencamp in 4th.

The final stop of the Quiksilver Get Free series takes place in Port Alfred on the 29th and 30th August.
