Hailing from Athens, Greece Panos Manaras is pretty damn excited to be heading out to South Africa to compete in both Ultimate X and The Night Harvest BMX contests. We hooked up and interview with the rider to get his thoughts on the trip and more.

How amped are you to be heading out to South Africa?
I’m so excited to be in South Africa. When I’m visiting a new place that I’ve never been before and it sounds to me like an adventure! I’ve seen videos like ‘Make it Happen’, some edits from Greg Illingworth, Matt Priest, Lima and town looks so beautiful with many street spots. I can’t wait to experience it!
You will be competing in both Ultimate X and The Night Harvest. How much do you know about these events and what are your thoughts on them?
Yes. Greg told me about these two contests and looks like it’s going to be a good time for sure. I don’t know so many things about those two contests but I saw some pictures on Instagram and I can’t wait to be there.
One being a park event and the other a dirt event, which are you looking forward to most and why?
I’m looking forward for both of them cause every contest has his own fun!
What are your goals for both Ultimate X and The night Harvest?
Just having fun and trying to complete my runs perfectly and safe.

What can fans expect from your riding style at the events?
[Laughs] I don’t know. Maybe something creative.
You have a big bag of tricks, which new ones are you working on and will we see them in SA?
Not new tricks exactly but new combos and lines depending on the course.
What are you hoping to experience while over here?
Having fun with the rest of the riders, meeting new people, making new friends and discover the South African culture.
Any words for the masses that will be out supporting the events and the athletes?
I Hope to enjoy, have a great time and having fun with BMX riders. See you soon Cape Town.
