Episode 4 of Just Getting Started drops into one of the biggest weekends yet for the Norco Race Division – covering another gold for Gracey Hemstreet, and breakthroughs for the team at the Leogang Downhill MTB World Cup.
Gracey Hemstreet has hit her stride, making history with back-to-back wins. Her Loudenvielle first place made her the first Canadian woman to win in the Elite category. With the victory in Leogang, she’s now the first Canadian woman to go back-to-back gold, as well as the first Canadian woman to wear the green leader’s jersey.
Lina Frener and Gracey swapped trade secrets in practice rounds, through the motorway and faster-than-ever technical tree sections. After setting up for another ripper of a race, Lina took a crash in the woods during practice and decided to sit out this round to be able to come back in full form in Val di Sole.
Lucas Cruz was getting into the groove, nailing the tight, tricky corners on the infamous track. He’s been steadily gaining confidence and speed throughout the season.
On and off the track, the team have been doing work, and had a breakthrough with Danny Hart’s bike setup, with a headscratcher of a problem.
Between lightbulb moments and lots of gold, energy is high these days for Norco Race Division. Val di Sole is right around the corner so stay tuned for what’s next with the team as they roll in hot to another weekend of racing.
