Why do you think the single “where’s My Shoes” from your 2nd Album “Sins and Siren Songs” is the crowd favourite?
It’s a catchy song…the sing along type. And I think people can relate to waking up and not having a clue what they’ve done with their shoes the night before.
You are known for your extraordinary music videos. Who comes up with these crazy ideas?
Every music video is different. Sometimes a production company would pitch the whole thing, like with “Bad Man He Comin”. “Yesterfang” came to us with the idea, and they made it all by themselves. With “Devil” we worked with Thomas Ferreira on the concept. “Try” Was Pierre and Yesterfang. And “Where’s my shoes” was a kind of joined effort by the whole band.
Tell us how the idea for the video for “Where’s My Shoes” came about?
We always wanted to do a real performance video…you know, one where we actually film a real performance. So we got our friends together. We rehearsed a one song musical the first day, and we shot it the next day.
What is the song and music video about?
It is a song about loss. The song uses a metaphor of a homeless person that got a pair of shoes from his mother when he was 15. He loved those shoes. He managed to lose everything else in his life, except those shoes, until he woke up one morning, and his shoes were gone.
What have you tried to capture in the music?
We wanted a nostalgic feel to it. It is actually a country song, so I think it comes across nicely.
Do you think this video will be nominated for a MK Award as two of your past videos have been?
We don’t make videos to be nominated for awards. If they do it’s great, but it is not something we anticipate.
What song are you looking at doing a music video for next?
“Where’s my shoes” was the last one off Sins & Siren songs. Next is the first single off the third album. We’re releasing it later this year…before the end of days….
