Monster Energy TRP Distributors Motocross Nationals Wrap Up

The historic Syringa Park played host to the fifth and final round of the 2014 Monster Energy TRP Distributor Motocross Nationals and what a weekend of racing it was. Riders lay it all on the line competing through all 3 heats for valuable championship points and to see who would be crowned the 2014 South African Champions.

125 High School

In the Junior class Joshua Mlimi rode well all weekend long attacking the track with confidence and making few mistakes taking the win in all 3 heats. Charl van Eerden improved throughout 2014 and posted a 2nd place overall for the weekend. Tyron Nel rounded off the podium in 3rd place.
Jason Visser had essentially sealed the championship at the previous round and did the bare minimum to secure the championship.

Reid Sinnicks was a late entry into the Senior Class and took all 3 heat wins boosting his confidence after some time off. Conor Fletcher finished in 2nd with Luke Du Toit in 3rd.


In Heat 1 Tristan Purdon and Nicholas Adams, the juniors of the class, were on the cable. Sacha Naude was aware of the close point battle and pushed through to take the lead from Purdon. Michael Kok finished in 3rd.

Motocross action coming from the MX2 class
Wyatt Avis came out flying in Heat 2 and convincingly took the win. Sacha Naude finished in 2nd with Michael Kok again finishing in 3rd.

In the 3rd and final Heat of the championship Tristan Purdon gave it his all. He was charged down until the checkered flag by the man possessed, Michael Kok. Purdon managed to hold Kok off for the win. Nicholas Adams rounded off the top 3. Sacha Naude settled into 4th position and secured the 2014 title. Tristan Purdon earned himself 2nd place in the 2014 Championship and Anthony Raynard took 3rd.

Michael Kok was a man on a mission and took the win by a substantial margin in Heat 1 over Kerim Fitz-Gerald in 2nd and Sacha Naude in 3rd.

In Heat 2The Kokstar” continued with the same mind set and went on to take another huge margin win. Sacha Naude finished in 2nd place and wrapped up the championship overall. Lloyd Vercueil finished in 3rd.

With the championship already wrapped up Sacha Naude decided to drop the hammer in Heat 3 to take the win. Michael Kok finished in 2nd and took a well deserved overall for the weekend. Kerim Fitz-Gerald finished in 3rd. Michael Kok Finished 2nd in the 2014 Championship with Kerim Fitz-Gerald taking home 3rd.

The weekend was dedicated to young Joshua Jennings who sadly passed away the week before. Number 100 with never be forgotten and his family and friends in our thoughts always.
