Another UK rider heading out to South Africa for the next 2 weeks in Matt Priest. Matt will be competing in both Ultimate X (27 and 28 Feb) and The Night Harvest (6 March) BMX contests and we caught up with the rider to have a quick chat about it.
How amped are you to be heading out to South Africa?
I can’t wait, I love SA and Cape Town, it’s an amazing place.
You will be competing in both Ultimate X and The Night Harvest. How much do you know about these events and what are your thoughts on them?
I’ve never rode Ultimate X before but I’ve seen videos and the course looks fun, so I’m buzzing. The Night Harvest, I missed last year’s event but went to 2013 and it was awesome the jumps are so dialed, it’s a treat to ride there.
One being a park event and the other a dirt event, which are you looking forward to most and why?
I enjoy both disciplines but if I had to choose id say The Night Harvest after seeing how much work the locals have put into the jumps. I can’t wait to ride them!
What are you goals for both Ultimate X and The night Harvest?
To have fun.
You have a big bag of tricks, which new ones are you working on and will we see them in SA?
I’m not sure, I guess it just depends how you feel on the day.
What are you hoping to experience while over here?
Sun! Catch up with friends I made last time and make some new ones, and ride everyday.
Any words for the masses that will be out supporting the events and the athletes?
