Krank’d Up 2016

Krank’d Up Music Festival keeps getting bigger and bigger year on year, and this year’s show was a clear indication that this ascension will continue for quite some time.

Showcasing the best in local and international alternative, rock and metal, Krank’d Up proved that the organisers definitely have their fingers on the pulse of what’s hip and happening in both the international and local music landscape.

Heritage Day was represented superbly by the hungry South African acts who stamped their authority loudly with world class performances, backed up by the cheering masses. When the indoor stage closed and lured the hordes towards the main stage, you could feel the excitement in the air as everyone prepared themselves for the inevitable onslaught that was to come from the US acts. The sea of people in the cool night air kicking up dust while passionately singing along to their favourite Norma Jean and Periphery songs was a sight to behold. This was a show for the fans, by the fans, and the post-event photos would give anyone who didn’t attend FOMO for life.

2016’s instalment firmly establishes Krank’d Up as the go-to alternative festival in South Africa and we look forward to more dreams coming true in 2017’s instalment.
