The Kimberly Diamond Cup Skateboarding event is well underway at the Kumba Skate Plaza. The world’s best Street and Vert skaters have descended to South Africa to compete in the world championship event.
Day 1 saw the woman’s amateur Street contest and the amateur Vert contest go down. Kelly Murray took the win and the R10 000 cash prize in the Woman’s Amateur Street comp.

The amateur Vert contest was closely matched but it was Dallas Oberholzer who took a dominating win at the last minute with a big 79.66 score over 2nd place Jacques Allison with 75.00 and 3rd place Werner du Plessis with 71.96.

The Pro Street skaters also had their chance to warm up on the pristine SkatePark. The likes of Manny Santiago, Evan Smith and Nyjah Huston lay down impressive flip and rail tricks which they landed first attempt. Warm up for these guys is insane and on another level.
