A rider that is super stoked to be coming out to South Africa for Ultimate X (27 and 28 Feb) and The Night Harvest (6 March) BMX contests is USA’s Kevin Peraza. This guys has a huge bag of tricks and the style to go along with it. See what Kevin had to say about the upcoming trip and contests in our exclusive interview with him.
How amped are you to be heading out to South Africa?
I’m Super stoked to be going to South Africa! I didn’t get to go last year due to some other events, but this year I’m not missing out. I literally can’t wait to be there. All I have heard are amazing things and good vibes from everyone that’s been in Cape Town. I’m excited to say the least.
You will be competing in both Ultimate X and The Night Harvest. How much do you know about these events and what are your thoughts on them?
Yes, I’ll be riding both Ultimate X & The Night Harvest! They should be good fun with everyone who’s going, and the locals.
I have no idea what to expect but I always have an opened mind and get stoked to travel and go to new events. It will be fun no matter what. The night harvest sounds like a midnight trail jam with a natural moonlight [laughs].
One being a park event and the other a dirt event, which are you looking forward to most and why?
I grew up riding dirt and park so I’m just as excited to ride both. The trail one sounds like a good time, MTB and BMX!
What are you goals for both Ultimate X and The night Harvest?
I don’t know. Just ride and do my best but I’m going just for the good times. I’m just excited to be going to South Africa in the first place. So as long as I’m having a good time I don’t mind. #BmxIsAwesome
What can fans expect from your riding style at the events?
Just a lot of laughs and Smiles from me I guess [laughs], but big tricks, unique lines and runs. Just lots of fun.
You have a big bag of tricks, which new ones are you working on and will we see them in SA?
Who knows, I’m always changing it up in riding, it has a lot to do with the park course or the trails. If I get comfortable I guess you’ll see a lot of sweet tricks from me! I don’t have one trick I’ve been working on but lots, so it’s hard to say.
What are you hoping to experience while over here?
I can’t wait to experience the culture, meet new friends, see new things, experience a whole new lifestyle, lots of wildlife and nature. It will be a like a different world for me. I can’t wait!
Any words for the masses that will be out supporting the events and the athletes?
Get Ready Because we’re all coming for a good time and we’re all gonna have a BMX Party!
