Day 3 of the J Bay Open of surfing saw a huge crowd witness a day of upsets, shocks and goofy foot wins. SA’s Jordy Smith needed a 6 point ride against a charging CJ Hobgood to move through to round 4 but only managed a high 5 point score and was eliminated from the contest.
