SA’s biggest actions sports and lifestyle event is set to rock Cape Town again come 1st February 2014. The Gateway Canal at the V & A Waterfront will once again be transformed into an action sports paradise for the Hunters eXtreme Ultimate X 2014. SA best action sports athletes will gather to compete against each other in BMX, Freestyle Motocross, Skateboarding, Wakeboarding and MTB.
The daylong event which is in its 5th year expects to attract thousands of action sports loving enthusiasts. Gates will open at 10am and close at 9pm. The afterparty will get underway on site at 7pm with local bands and DJ’s performing into the night.
Things have been stepped up for Ultimate X 2014 to ensure the event meets international standards with record crowds and insane performances from local and international athletes. Catch the likes of Alastair Sayer (FMX), Jordan Elizondo-Darwin (Wake), Paul Ryan (BMX), Moses Adams (Skate), Mike Oyston (FMX), Anthony De Mendonca (Skate), David Rigby (BMX), Andrew Guess (MTB) and Melissa Colborne (Wake), to name just a handful, compete in the various disciplines for their piece of the R120 000 cash prize purse.
Cross Country Ultimate Eliminator will a new discipline introduced to Ultimate X in 2014. Taken from the UCI MTB World Cup, the heat racing format will combine riders from around SA across various cycling disciplines to battle it out over technical obstacle and explosive straights.
