94 Juta Street, Braamfontien was transformed into an epic location for House of Vans Johannesburg to celebrate 50 Years “Off The Wall”. A three-day celebration that saw some of the biggest names in Rock, Punk and Hip-Hop entertain the masses, alongside art and skateboarding.
Opening night kicked off with the live acts featuring; Maphorisa, KiD X, Ms. Cosmo, Kid Fonque, Themba Lunacy and Mvelo. All delivering heaving sets throughout the evening.
On Day 2, the art exhibition opened featuring works by Black Koki (contemporary artist), Danielle Clough (embroidery artist) and Tyrone Ping (photographer), as well as some Vans heritage pieces.
Guests had the opportunity to partake in mug customisation and tote bag printing workshops.
Performances by The Tazers, Sol Gems, Al Bairre, Bye Beneco and The Make-Overs kept the crowds entertained well into the night.
The final day returned to the core culture of Vans with the Pro Classic Skateboarding event, in partnership with Baseline Skate Shop. Some of SA’s top skaters battled it out for R10 000 in cash for tricks on a newly built obstacle that paid homage to the infamous Angle Banks on Loveday Street in Johannesburg.
Sizzling DJ sets by TMO, Slice Frederico, Olwee and Speedsta kicked off the night’s entertainment before Youngsta and Stilo Magolide took to the stage with lit live performances.
