EFC will have their next major event in on 14 December at Time Square, Menlyn in Pretoria. EFC 83 promises to be one of the biggest MMA events of the year. There will be three main card bouts with prelim bouts still to be announced. The main events as well as the main card fights have already been announced. The previous EFC 82 was held on 28 September earlier this year at Carnival City east of Johannesburg. The fight night at the Big Top Arena saw Simon Biyong win the Welterweight title and Themba Gorimbo win the Light Heavyweight title.

The upcoming EFC 83 has some of the biggest names in the EFC participating in the event. The biggest fight of the evening will be Dricus du Plessis vs Brendan Lesar for the EFC Middleweight world championship. Lesar shocked the EFC community when he took down Garreth McLellan, aka Soldierboy, in his third match of his MMA career. Du Plessis says he is not fazed by new comer Lesar, this will be a match to remember. Another exciting main bout fight will be between ‘Mad Dog” Amanda Lino and French fighter Manon Fiorot. Double division champion Amanda recently underwent surgery but is expected to make a full recovery and to be fighting fit for the match. Another fierce fight will be Sylvester Chipfumbu “Gladiator” from Zimbabwe vs South African Asiashu Tshitamba for the No.1 bantamweight slot. Sylvester has won four out of his last five fights and the Gladiator has won two out of his last five fights. This bantamweight slot will be fierce with both fighters being lighting fast.
