FMX Development Series Round 3 Review

Round 3 of the FMX Development Series in is the books and what a day it was! Hundreds of spectators turned up to get their fix of the Freestyle Motocross action that took place on the newly built FMX park at Erora Race Track in Kempton Park, Gauteng. The course was put together really well and featured not only the steel hits but some big dirt doubles as well.

In the Amateur Division it was Wesley Shaw who walked away with this win with his creative use of the course. Darryl Hancock threw down some really cool style and whips which put him into 2nd place for the day while Dieter Behr finished in 3rd sticking big Nothings.

The Pro/ AM Division saw a lot of the riders step up their game and is a prime example of how the Development Series is progressing the sport of Freestyle Motocross. Jacques Human, who started in the Amateur Division in Round 1, moved up a division and took home the overall landing impressive Holy Grabs.
Leuwellyan van Rensburg’s awesome style and bit Hart Attacks saw him finish in 2nd. Doug Willis followed in 3rd landing Tsunami’s and Strippers. Unfortunately in the second heat Doug tapped his foot on the ground and broke his ankle. Speedy recover Doug.

Pro riders Alastair Sayer and Brendan Potter where on hand giving riders advise and showed off their skills during an open ride session. Over 300 spectators were there on the day supporting showing that this series is growing from strength to strength. We cannot wait for Round 4 taking place in November. Keep posted for details.
