Nickname: ‘Nando’
Age: 20
Hometown: Currently Darmstadt, a little town next to Frankfurt, Germany
Years riding: About 10
Sponsors: United BMX, Etnies, DUB BMX, Parano Garage and Monster Energy

For those that don’t know you, give us some background into your riding career?
I got my first bike for my birthday when I was10, at that time I was living in Germany, so I started there but the same year we moved to Spain and there I met Ruben and all the Flybikes crew and really got into BMX with them. My highlight so far was be a part of Above/Below, which we filmed last year.
How would you explain your riding style?
I actually ride a bit park and trails too, it’s fun but the most of the time I’m grinding, so street is the main thing.
When you think of South Africa, what comes to mind?
Hot weather, beautiful places and a new place to explore.
How did your upcoming trip to South Africa come about?
My boss from Spain just wrote me about it and I loved the idea to hit a new continent to ride my bike.
What are you looking forward to most about your trip out here?
Enjoying the weather and hanging out with locals to ride, chill or whatever and maybe learn something getting to see new places, etc.
How long will you be out here and what riding have you got planned?
10 days. Maybe film something or just freestyle and see what’s going on there [laughs].

What goes through your mind when you’re on you bike?
Mostly it’s just the best feeling and when I’m having a shit day my bike makes it better.
Where would you like to see the sports of BMX take you?
Just like it is taking me, but for as long as possible.
What advise do you have for the up and comers?
I think they should go out and ride with friends because that’s what it’s all about!
