el Jimador 100% Agave Surf Classic Review

el Jimador tequila in association with Mahala and Zigzag hosted the first ever 100% Agave Surf Classic which took place at Table View beach in Cape Town on the 7th June. The surfing contest saw local artists Jason Hayes, Ian Armstong and Start Moerdyk create 6 unique Agave surfboards that competitors had to ride in standing the chance of winning.

Extremely cold weather did not slow down the competition. Judges Tasha Mentasti, Kai Linder and Ilan Sheer had a tough time on their hand but it was Taryn Chudleigh who took the overall win in the end and earned herself her ow Agave surfboard. Mikey February following in 2nd place and Max Armstrong in 3rd. Apish Tshetsha earned the special award for the most promising newcomer. The action packed event was ended off with an after party at the Boardhouse beach bar.
