One of the biggest fight cards South Africa has ever seen is set to rock MMA fans this Saturday, 30th August , as EFC Africa heads to Durban for the first time. EFC Africa 33, the McLellan vs Du Plessis title fight and a host of 10 more incredible Mixed Martial Arts fights will take place at the Durban ICC.
Gareth McLellan, the current EFC Africa Middleweight champion, is Durban born and bred, and will face the 20 year old undefeated sensation Dricus du Plessis. Will Du Plessis be able to withstand the onslaught and experience of the legend and become the youngest champion in EFC history?
Another huge fight will be the near superfight taking place between Martin van Staden and Jeremy Smith. Van Staden is another Durban local fighter who has grown leaps and bound to become one of Africa’s best. Smith is a former EFC Africa Middleweight champion and it will be exciting to see how he performs in the Welterweight division.
Donavin Hawkey, an icon of the sport, will bring his MMA career to a close in front of his home crowd as he faces Bernado Mikixi in the hexagon. The equally talented Hawkey brother, Wesley Hawkey, will join the main card and take on Brendon Katz.
