Tonight will see the fight night the everyone has been waiting for at EFC Africa 17. With a talent packed fight card including two EFC Africa Title fights fans can be sure not to be dissapinted. The EFC Lightweight Title Fight between Costa Ioannou and Leon Mynhardt and the EFC Middleweight Title Fight between Jeremy Smith and Darren Daniel are going to be epic fights.

We caught up with Jeremy Smith and Leon Mynhardt to chat to them about their title fights:

Jeremy “Pitbull” Smith interview:

What have you changed up in your preparation for this fight compared to your last fight?
I like to evolve in every aspect of my game plan.

What has been the hardest thing to prepare for, for this title fight?
Every fight is different. I train hard for everything and I am ready for everything.

How long have you been training for this fight?
3 to 4 months.

What do you think Darren’s strategy is going to be and how are you going to combat it?
He will come out wanting to fight standing but if he wants to go to the ground I am more than ready.

What is your strategy for this fight?
I want to keep it standing.

What do you think Darren’s weaknesses are?
His cardio is a bit suspect, but other than that he is a great athlete.

What can fans expect on fight night?
One heck of a fight.

What song will you be walking out and into the hexagon to? 
Can’t be touched by Roy Jones Jnr.

What gets you hyped up before you step into the cage?
The fight itself.

What goes through your mind as the bell is about to go for the first round?
Ask me when the bell rings ‘cause I can’t remember.

How do you see the fight ending?
Hopefully a Knock Out.

Keeping it MMA all-round.

What do you think Costa’s strategy is going to be and how are you going to combat it?
I have no idea, but I’m ready for whatever he brings.

What is your strategy for this fight?
My strategy, will be revealed on fight night.

What do you think Costa’s weaknesses are?
Cardio.

What can fans expect on fight night?
Explosive power and speed, and maybe some blood.

What song will you be walking out and into the hexagon to?
You can’t get the best of me by Cypress Hill.

What gets you hyped up before you step into the cage?
My team and my love for the game.

What goes through your mind as the bell is about to go for the first round?
Focus on the target.

How do you see the fight ending?
With me winning and taking the title.
