Dany Torres Talks Red Bull X-Fighters SA

Dany Torres is one of the most decorated X-Fighters athletes to date, and besides being a fan favourite, he has some of the biggest tricks in the game. Dany will be joining 11 of the world’s best Freestyle Motocross riders at the 2014 Red Bull X-Fighters World Tour finale at the Union Buildings in Pretoria on the 23rd August, and he will be competing for the podium.
We got the chance to hook up a quick interview with the Spaniard and get his thoughts on the South African stop of the tour. See what had to say:

It is the first time X-Fighters will be visiting South Africa. What are you expecting from this stop and what are you looking forward to?
I’m expecting another awesome competition with the best level I’ve ever seen. From my side, It’s being a hard season because my injury but I will do my best in order to try to get a spot on podium.

What has your preparation for the upcoming stop consisted of?
As always, I’m practicing with my bike as much as I can.

How would you like to finish in Pretoria?
It would be fantastic to win but to be on podium would be also a great success.

We have seen huge progress in FMX tricks over last few years. How much more do you think the sport of FMX can progress?
[Laughs] It’s a good question but I don’t have the answer. It’s really crazy how FMX is progressing and I don’t know where are the limits.

What can South African FMX fans expect from X-Fighters on the 23rd August?
They will have the chance to see the best FMX competition in the world.

How do you see the 2014 World Tour wrapping up?
The 2014 World Tour has being awesome. There are 4 riders with chances of winning the title although Levi (Sherwood) and Josh (Sheehan) are the best positioned. Tom (Pages) and I continue with options although is depends on what others do. From my side, after my hard year, it would be a great success to be on Top 3.

Any words for you fans before you get to South Africa?
