The wait is almost over, as Dan Patlansky launches his new album entitled Introvertigo on Friday 6th May. We caught up with Dan to chat about the new album and what we can expect from it.

You have had quite the successful 2015 and beginning of 2016. What are some of your standout highlights?
Definitely touring with Joe Satriani at the end of last year. And launching Dear Silence Thieves at the Borderline in London. It’s a really iconic venue.
On the 6th May we will see the release of your new studio album, Introvertigo. Are you as excited as us for the release?
I’m amped to get this album out there. I’m very proud of it and think it’s my best work to date.
You spent 2 years writing this album. Explain the feeling of accomplishment and what this album means to you?
Yes, 2 years is a very long time indeed. So the most exciting part is having fresh songs to perform. It always feels great to have completed an album. It’s like a time capsule of where one is at that moment in their life.

How did the recording process for this album compare to past recordings?
It was the same as the last album because I used the same producer, Theo Crous. But the last two albums were very different in the sense that the song writing was the main focus and everything else became secondary.
The meaning for Introvertigo can be found on Urban Dictionary. Does it have any other meaning to you or the album?
Well I’m an introvert and have experienced Introvertigo a good few times in my life. So I thought it would be a fitting album title because the songs were all written through the eyes of an introvert.
Introvertigo – The dizziness and disorientation felt by an introvert after spending more than 5 minutes with an extrovert.
With a 10 track listing, which track means the most to you?
Still Wanna Be Your Man. It’s about the balance between life on the road and life at home with my family. Tough to get right.

Which do you think will be a fan favourite?
Heartbeat because it’s simple and to the point. The best songs always have those qualities.
How would you best sum up this album and what can fans expect from it?
A collection of cool songs strongly driven by guitar playing. It’s loud and in your face with some gentle moments too.
Tell us about your album launch tour and what you are looking forward to most?
We’ve just finished the SA leg. So I’m most excited about taking it to the UK next month. London in particular.
What’s next for Dan Patlansky?
Off to Europe in the next few weeks to launch the album abroad.
