BMX rider Colin Loudon kills it every single time we see him ride. Riding for DC Shoes, Monster Energy, Skullcandy, GoPro and now United through BMX Direct there is no dispute that Colin is one of SA’s best. Colin has put together this sick edit for all to witness. We chatted to Colin about the filming of this video, BMX comps and some other stuff…Check it:

Tell us about the different locations shot at in this edit…
I got the chance to ride the ditch in Gouda, near Cape Town, which is probably the best natural transition in SA. A pool in Durban at a derelict house. My local park – Durban Beach park. Gum Trails in Capetown. Indigo skate camp in Valley of a 1000 hills near Durban. UKZN Westville campus. It was a nice mix of spots that I enjoy riding so I had a lot of fun filming.
Which location was your favourite and why?
The Bank to wall in UKZN cause you just get to crank your ass off at it even though the run up is super sketchy and I’ve seen people go down hard even just cranking up to it.
How many times did you see your ass during filming for this edit?
Haha … To be honest I kept the crashing to a minimum on this one luckily.
Which was the hardest take to get?
Probably the carve over the stairs in the pool because it was really tight and kept shooting me out all weird. Or the Curve wall 180 Full Cab because I was probably hung over and got a puncture and ripped my tire while trying it.
What trick and line is your favourite in this video?
Probably just that loose run through gum trails during Halloween Jam cause those jumps were running really fast and dry and they’re scary as hell to trick…haha.
Things have quietened down a bit since the mayhem of BMX comps that happened at the beginning of the year. Which one of those comps would you go back to right now and session?
Probably Ditch Jam because we really put a lot of effort into building that course that got destroyed by all the international riders in 37degree heat. I was feeling pretty KO by the time we got to ride it so getting to session it with a fresh body and mind would’ve been ideal.
What have you been up to since things have quietened down?
I like to stay quite busy and productive with my time when I’m not riding. I’m busy filming with my brother Stuart for a Mongoose edit that we’re working on. I also enjoy making beats and was pretty amped to use my own track for this edit.
Any comps in the near future that you are looking forward to?
I am planning on putting on an event this year and if everything works out it should be quite awesome. So I’m looking forward to seeing that come to light.
What does 2013 hold in store for Colin Loudon?
Busy making plans now to spend at least 2months in UK/ Europe this year so I’m pretty much just trying my best to make that happen so I can see all the gents that side and ride amazing new stuff.
