Climate Control have just released their lyric music video for their latest single entitled Ghosts. We caught up with the band to chat to them about the single, the video and more. Watch it here and see what they had to say in the interview below.
You have just released your new single entitled Ghosts. Give us some insight into the song?
Nic: The song is about the broad concept of leaving a worthy mark or legacy behind, with whatever it is that a person is passionate about. Personally it’s something that both drives & haunts me, so it was a song that came out very organically without much struggle or writer’s block. Sonically, it’s a little more melodic, and very energetic and bouncy.
What was your idea behind releasing the lyric music video?
Brook: The band treats each single or unique endeavour as a special offering to audiences, and in doing so each single has with it a visual element. We chose to go the lyric video route for 2 reasons: It’s something we haven’t done before, and the lyrical content of the band is one of our stronger points.
Will you be filming a full music video for the track?
Jacques: We worked with ex-DayShell member Tyler Shippy to create a lyric video for the track. The video features some exclusive artwork for the track which will also be available in print. A full music video is in the works for an upcoming track’s release.
What goals does the band have for 2016?
Wes: One of our biggest goals for 2016 would be a Cape Town tour, we’ve always wanted to play a few shows there to broaden our fanbase. Another goal for us would be to play more major festivals, one of them being OppiKoppi. Getting our new song playlisted on radio would be damn good too!
What’s next for Climate Control?
Luca: We have quite a lot of plans brewing for the future. Other than the release of Little Mess and a music video, we have been planning to do a full tour of South Africa as we’ve been itching to do this for quite a while now. A possible short tour of the states in the future might also be on the cards for us. One of the plans we’ve been working on is to play big shows at more venues and expand our fanbase, and I think we’re all more than amped to try get on the bill for OppiKoppi.
